UFC Blocked Masivdal From MVP MMA Card

By Eddie Sanchez

Jorge Masvidal last fought in MMA at UFC 287, which ended his career with a four-fight skid. According to Masvidal, Nakisa Bidarian of Most Valuable Promotions offered him a spot on the Rousey vs Carano card, though the UFC blocked this opportunity.

“I was talking to Nakisa. I get along very well with Nakisa, and nothing but love for him for even thinking of me and calling me up. It just didn’t work out,” Masvidal said.

“I had the first offer before they gave it to Nate (Diaz), it was me, and I desperately wanted to take the fight, but the UFC has a good, good plan for me, and they told me the plan.

“I like it and we’re going to see it through now.” (Bloody Elbow)

Regarding his potential opponent, Masvidal shared that he was listed three ‘good’ candidates to fight him in his return. While he didn’t get into details, Masvidal didn’t rule out a potential fight with Conor McGregor, who could return in July at International Fight Week following a five-year hiatus.
