Needless to say, Dana and the UFC Matchmakers have put together an absolute rocket of a fight card, and knowing we haven’t seen a fight in 44 days (who’s counting), I think it’s time for all of us to put some money on the line. Here’s some Bad Promoter Picks:

Let’s start with the last fight on the Undercard, Cowboy vs. Pettis 2. With both fighters coming off multiple losses, each has a lot to prove and this fight will dictate their respective futures in the welterweight division. Cowboy and Pettis fought once before back in 2013 which resulted in a one-sided, first round TKO victory in Pettis’ favor. Taking that into consideration, I love you Cowboy, but I got Pettis on this one. I don’t think seven years and an extra 15 pounds will work in Cowboy’s favor on May 9th. At only +105, this fight is pretty damn even and a great pick to make some extra cash during this quarantine.

The next fight I like is Yorgan De Castro vs. Greg Hardy. With both fighters known for spectacular finishes, it’s safe to say this is going to be a BRAWL. Either way, Hardy coming off of a busy and storied 2019 have all fight fans excited to see what the controversial NFL Pro-Bowler turned controversial UFC Heavyweight will bring to UFC 249. Despite Hardy’s inexperience in the octagon, his only “true” loss came last November to the No. 7 Ranked UFC Heavyweight, Alex Volkov. Being Hardy’s most high-profile fight, we think he still looked great and was able to display his sheer athleticism once again. You can’t count him out until that last bell rings. Although Castro has an impressive 6-0 Professional MMA Record (5 of which have come via finish), it’s difficult to see him being able to handle Hardy’s size, explosiveness and athleticism. For that reason, I’m taking Greg Hardy by KO/TKO.

Next is Jairzinho Rozenstruik vs. Francis Ngannou. Never bet against Ngannou, period. That being said, I think this fight goes the distance. Ngannou by Unanimous Decision.

Moving on to the Co-Main Event, Dominick Cruz vs. Henry Cejudo. There’s nothing like a good comeback story and if Cruz were to be able to pull this off, it’s one of the best stories of all time. Along with that, Cruz does have a past of long layoffs to spectacular wins. Unfortunately we don’t think this will be his night. Henry Cejudo, the self-proclaimed best combat sports athlete of all time, is most likely going to run through Cruz. At -250, we think this is a safe bet. How will this fight finish? I honestly couldn’t tell you, but put your money on Cejudo coming out victorious.

Finally, we have the Main Event of UFC 249, Tony Ferguson vs. Justin Gaethje. Are you still mad about another failed attempt at Tony vs. Khabib? Don’t be. This fight will be more entertaining and will end in dramatic fashion. Gaethje is an absolute savage, and if he were to win, that may be the end to the Khabib and Tony saga. That’s a terrible reality to accept, so we won’t. Tony finishes Justin in under 3. I like the idea of a submission, so let’s go with Tony’s favorite D’arce Choke.

Those are the fights we’re betting on at The Bad Promoter. Who you got?
