McGregor vs. Chandler Press Conference ‘Sells Out’ in Less Than 5 Minutes + Nick Diaz News!
By Eddie Sanchez
Tickets for the UFC 303 press conference at Dublin’s 3Arena, scheduled for Monday, June 3, 2024, were released to the public at 10 a.m. local time.
By 10:05 a.m., every single ticket was claimed.
This rapid sell-out isn’t surprising, considering the tickets were free and there were only 8,000 available. However, it highlights the immense anticipation for Conor McGregor’s highly awaited return against Michael Chandler, even in his home country where the media often portrays him as reckless and controversial.
For those who missed the brief five-minute window to secure up to two tickets each, scalpers are now reselling them for as much as $1,100 each.
Tickets for UFC 303 start at $1,500 each plus fees, with premium floor seats near the cage priced up to $14,500. UFC CEO Dana White announced that the event is set to surpass $20 million in gate revenue alone, sparking complaints from fans who feel priced out of attending.
“It’s a lovely feather in the cap,” McGregor told The Mac Life about the gate record. “It’s our first time clearing the $20 million mark. I’m very happy with that. How do I feel? It’s inflation. The price, you take it. I have mixed feelings about it. It just is what it is.
“Congratulations to those who managed to get their tickets. To those still aspiring to get one, I wish them well,” McGregor added. “It’s big business, and I’m excited to be a part of it.”
McGregor’s ability to draw a crowd remains unmatched!
Nick Diaz is Returning!
Nick Diaz, one of the most popular fighters in mixed martial arts history, will return to the UFC in August.
Diaz (26-10) is set to face Vicente Luque (22-10-1) in a five-round welterweight bout at UFC Fight Night on August 3 in Abu Dhabi. UFC CEO Dana White announced the fight on Wednesday.
The announcement came as a surprise, as Diaz, the older brother of UFC star Nate Diaz, has not fought since September 2021. The 40-year-old legend struggled in a TKO loss to Robbie Lawler and admitted during fight week that he was not excited to return to competition. Before that fight, Diaz had been out of the Octagon for six years.
