Karate Combat 43: Benson Henderson vs Anthony Pettis and The Bad Promoter fan-favorite Ross “Turbo” Levine

By Eddie Sanchez

Karate Combat has risen in popularity over the past few years and The Bad Promoter was fortunate enough to have Karate Combat Middleweight Champion, Ross Levine, join The Bad Promoter podcast back in July.

Ross “Turbo” Levine is now scheduled to take on long-time ex-UFC fighter, Sam Alvey, not in a Middleweight bout, but in a challenge for the Vacant Karate Combat HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP.

Yes… the Heavyweight title. This is an unreal jump for Levine, and fans should tune in next week on December 15th to see this matchup.

Levine is 4-0 in Karate Combat and each fight can be watched HERE on the Karate Combat site. Catch the action from each of his victories to prepare for his upcoming heavyweight title clash.

If that isn’t enough to spark your interest, the main event, which will take place immediately after Levine-vs-Alvey, will feature Benson Henderson-vs-Anthony Pettis in a trilogy bout. Both men are ex-WEC champions and ex-UFC champions, and Henderson will take a crack at avenging his two defeats to Pettis.

Henderson and Pettis first met in the cage in the main event of WEC 53 in 2010, which was the final WEC card before the promotion was absorbed by the UFC. The fight saw Pettis claim the lightweight title via unanimous decision and also land his famous “Showtime Kick.”

Henderson went on to win the UFC lightweight belt in 2012 and defended it three times before a rematch with Pettis at UFC 164 ended with a second defeat via first-round submission.

This grudge match is sure to captivate a new audience and bring greater fan interest towards Karate Combat. The league is rumored to be in discussions with other prominent names in MMA like Michael Page and Darren Till as well.

Tune in on December 15th to watch these fantastic matchups.
