Conor McGregor Could Be Skipped for UFC White House Card

According to MMA reporter Ariel Helwani, UFC is likely skipping McGregor for Trump’s White House card in favor of International Fight Week.

UFC officials could be looking to bring “Notorious” back for International Fight Week this July in Las Vegas, Nevada. That is well-known to be one of UFC’s most lucrative weeks all year, and with little to no money to make from an invite-only crowd at UFC White House, this move makes financial sense.

“It doesn’t look like it’s gonna be Conor on the White House card,” said Helwani.

“They have an International Fight Week card scheduled for July 11. There’s a greater chance of him fighting on that card than on the White House card. There’s no money to be made from the White House event.”

There is still a pulse to the Jon Jones vs Alex Pereira rumors, however. While a main event between Jon Jones and Alex Pereira would suffice, seeing McGregor return for a monumental event like the White House card would have been an ideal scenario for “Notorious.” McGregor is the biggest star in UFC history and would ensure the expensive card was a smashing success.

Finalized details are rumored to be announced sometime in the next week. Fingers crossed.
