Gable Stevenson Signs with RAF, Debut in May

The 2020 Olympic gold medalist in freestyle wrestling is widely regarded as the hottest prospect in MMA, having won all three of his fights in the first round so far.

The 25-year-old is eventually expected to make his way to the Octagon with the UFC, but in the meantime, he was busy putting pen to paper on a deal with Real American Freestyle.

Not many UFC fighters have begun their MMA journeys with as strong a wrestling base that Steveson has.

His accomplishments include being a two-time Dan Hodge Trophy winner, a two-time NCAA Division I national champion, a four-time Big Ten Conference champion, and five-time All-American.

Ariel Helwani reported on Wednesday that Steveson has signed a multi-match deal with RAF, starting with a debut at the promotion’s ninth event in Dallas on May 30, against who is expected to face a ‘big name’.
