Agit Kabayel to Return in Germany this January
By Eddie Sanchez
Heavyweight contender Agit Kabayel is set to make his return to Germany on January 10, headlining a card in Oberhausen against an opponent yet to be announced.
The 33-year-old, Kabayel, has built serious momentum abroad, earning a trio of impressive stoppage wins in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, against Arslanbek Makhmudov, Frank Sanchez, and Zhilei Zhang.
Now holding the WBC interim heavyweight title, Kabayel remains unbeaten at 26-0 (18 KOs). Despite his strong resume, he’s been largely absent from conversations about a potential matchup with undisputed champion Oleksandr Usyk. Known for his quiet, workmanlike approach rather than public callouts, Kabayel seems focused on staying active and maintaining his position among the division’s elite.
A successful showing in January could set up a major opportunity later in 2026, as Kabayel continues to push for his long-awaited shot on the world stage.
RUMORS
With Moses Itauma still without an opponent and his expected December date now uncertain, speculation is building around who the rising heavyweight will face next. Could the #4 WBC and #1 WBA/WBO–ranked contender be lined up for a clash with Agit Kabayel?
Meanwhile, Deontay Wilder has also indicated he’s looking for a January opponent. As the longtime WBC champion — and coincidentally celebrating his birthday today (October 22, 2025) — Wilder could find Kabayel a fitting opponent to kick off the new year.
Adding to the buzz, some users on X have pointed out Google AI’s prediction for Kabayel’s next move, fueling further debate about how the heavyweight picture could shake out heading into 2026.
